FCC Group’s Sustainability
and Corporate
Responsibility reports
Essential tools
FCC Construcción, FCC Medio Ambiente,
Aqualia and Cementos Portland Valderrivas
have published their annual Corporate Res-
ponsibility Reports prepared under the G4-
Global Reporting Initiative guidelines thanks
to which the reports obtained the maximum
A+ rating. To ensure that the information
contained therein is reliable, the reports were
also verified by external specialised firm.
The objective of these reports is to allow
internal and external stakeholders of
each organization interpret and assess
the corporate results of these FCC sub-
sidiaries in the context in which the en-
tity conducts its operations and to check
if the strategies implemented succeed in
contributing to a sustainable scenario.
FCC Medio Ambiente
The Environment division is governed by
the three guiding principles of the Group’s
Corporate Responsibility Master Plan
(2011-2014): Exemplary behaviour, Smart
services, and Connection with the Citizens.
It performs activities characterised by their
strong human component, its 29,104 em-
ployees which represent 46% of the total
FCC Group workforce. The waste collec-
tion, treatment, and recycling activities re-
main at the top, representing 48.6% f the
business, followed by urban cleaning acti-
vity which accounts for 32.1% of the total.
Through the guiding principle “Connection
with citizens”, FCC has proposed a series
of objectives to strengthen the bond with
the communities, encourage sustainable
habits, design projects that contemplate
the collaboration of employees and the as-
pirations of the community where it opera-
tes.
FCC Medio Ambiente has invested 14.9
million euros in carrying out 452 initiatives
with a social or environmental impact. It
