The strength of its
commitment
A team of bicycle rides which in-
cluded several FCC Aqualia
employees, covered
750 kilometres of the Way of
St. James in eight days.
The Cabezo de Torres (Murcia) Sports
centre opened its doors after
only five days thanks to the efforts of
its workers.
On 6 September, the members of the FCC Aqualia bicycle
team, wearing garments with the FCC brand, arrived at the
Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela after riding more than
750 kilometres in eight days, the distance separating Bilbao
from the city of Santiago.
Besides the satisfaction of having reached the goal, the pil-
grims felt very comforted by the treatment they received along
the way. As expressed by Isidoro Marbán, the Economic-Fi-
nancial manager of FCC Aqualia and a member of the cycling
team, “one of the highlights of this event was the warm welco-
me that we received in many towns along the route when they
recognised Aqualia’s logo printed on the jerseys”.
This team has already participated in several routes and events
wearing the Aqualia logo nationwide. These races include the
Talajara B-PRO Bike, several editions of the Soplao race, the
Cistercian Route, the Alto Tajo and the Riaza B-pro events.

The heavy rains in October in the city of Murcia caused serious floo-
ding at the installations of the Cabezo de Torres Sports Centre. The
decisive actions of the centre’s workers made it possible to partially
open the centre to the public in only five days.
In a few hours, the workers organised the first cleaning phase to re-
establish access to the ground floor of the facilities and the outdoor
area. The manager of the Levante branch office, Manuel Calatayud,
described the work as “hours of work, efforts, responsibility and,
most importantly, commitment to the company”.
The work carried out in the activation of the Emergency and Evacua-
tion plan was also praised. When the flooding occurred, 160 people
were inside, most of them children, who were evacuated quietly and
without any incidences.
