The main fountains of the city were tainted pink to create awareness and support for
this disease that affects many women.
The main ornamental fountains of the capi-
tal of the Principality of Asturias were tain-
ted pink as part of the events organised
throughout the country to commemorate
“Pink Week” against breast Cancer.
FCC Aqualia, in this symbolic way, partici-
pated in the events organised by the Spa-
nish Association Against Cancer (AECC,
Spanish acronym) and Oviedo’s City Coun-
cil. Agustín Iglesias Caunedo, the city’s ma-
yor, joined the initiative and posed wearing
pink sunglasses together with the AECC
representatives at one of the fountains and
promoted the initiative through his Twitter
and through the municipal Facebook ac-
count which received more than 42,000
visits.

the chosen backdrop to remind neighbours
and tourists of this unique solidarity initiati-
ve aimed at creating awareness on breast
cancer and to raise funds for the fight aga-
inst this disease.
