FCC receives recognition
for its involvement
with people at risk of social exclusion
The Integra Foundation has given recogni-
tion to FCC for its involvement with people
who are at risk of social exclusion and with
the disabled at an event held in Madrid be-
fore an audience of hundreds of managers
in charge of people management, corpora-
te social responsibility, and communication.
“Socially responsible employment: com-
mitment and profitability” was the title given
to the seminar which stressed the impor-
tance of collaborating with all social agents
to integrate groups at risk of social exclu-
sion and people with disabilities.
The founding chairman of Fundación In-
tegra and mayor of Madrid, Ana Botella,
chaired and closed the seminar. She took
advantage of the occasion to thank compa-
nies for their work “by offering people who
never had an opportunity a job, you help
them become financially independent and
this enables them to regain control of their
lives”.
Carmen Romeo Oliver, head of production
at the FCC Environment Barcelona and
Balearic Islands branch office collected the
prize on behalf of FCC.
Fundación Integra
Fundación Integra has been able to nego-
tiate more than 6000 contracts for people
who have encountered the most difficul-
ties. Those in charge of people manage-
ment have highlighted the commitment of
workers who were referred by Fundación
Integra and their perfect incorporation in
the workforce. In 90% of cases, the as-
sessment has been positive.
They also underscored that hiring people
at risk of social exclusion does not merely
represent an opportunity for them but that,
because of their often complex past, they
encounter greater problems when looking
for a job. This also represents an exceptio-
nal opportunity for improving productivity
at their companies in a socially responsi-
ble manner since these people “generally
identify themselves with the company and
demonstrate a high level of commitment”.
