From 21 to 26 September 2014, Lisbon
became the world’s water capital when it
hosted the prestigious IWA World Water
Congress (International Water Association),
the most important meeting of its kind held
every two years which brings together Go-
vernments, Administrations and Organiza-
tions. Under the slogan “Shaping our water
future”, nearly 5000 delegates analysed the
key issues that will be affecting the sector in
the coming years.

The congress revolved around several the-
matic tracks:

Health.

The Congress analysed the current situation
and the future of the water sector through
several presentations, projects, workshops
and other activities. FCC Aqualia was a lea-
ding player with Eduardo González and Fé-
lix Parras, chairman and managing director
of FCC Aqualia, respectively, representing
the company.
They were accompanied by many of the
people who are part of FCC Group’s wa-
ter subsidiary, including: Jesús Rodríguez,
manager of the branch office in Portugal;

Development in Portugal; Zouhayr Arbib,
researcher; Rita Antunes of the Technical
Department of the Portuguese branch offi-
