example, it is known as “le quart d’heure
sécurité” (a quarter of an hour on safety)
and in other places “safety pills”. At FCC
Aqualia we opted for the title “5 minutes
today for your safety” referring to what is
known colloquially as “just a minute”.
What has been the workers’ response?
The aim of these talks is to incorporate pre-
vention at the work place, that is, in situ,
learning about the problems in relation to
each aspect and tackling them simple and
clearly, using the same language as the one
employed by the workers.
The response has been generally positive.
The aim is to achieve interrelation from the
first minute on the day’s topic.
We usually like to be told what we need to
know and this includes preventive aspects
that we can apply to our day-to-day lives.
A good example of the response to this
initiative is that in many cases, the need
for further knowledge has been detected;
the need for new informative talks to try to
delve more deeply into one of the topics
discussed and this is the type of reaction
sought by this initiative.

What do you think about this initiative?
I think that it’s interesting, different, and
helps us to remember something that is
very important in our lives: safety.
It is really just 5 minutes to remind us about
safety measures at work and also useful
ones for our personal lives.
