Health at Work Charter
Jose Luis Barral Campillo,
prevention technician at FCC Construc-
ción receives an Honourable Mention from the PREVER Awards
FCC Aqualia and the major trade unions in
the industry, UGT and CC.OO, have spon-
sored the implementation of Health at Work
Charter at the company. To this purpose,
they signed an agreement at the corpora-
te headquarters in Las Tablas pursuant to
which they have set out the key objectives
for the ongoing improvement of work con-
ditions to increase the level of safety and
The PREVER 2013 National and Interna-
tional Prevention of Occupational Hazards
Committee, made up of representatives from
the General Council, the Directorate General
of Labour, the National Institute of Safety
and Health at Work in Murcia, the National
Safety and Health Committee, the Foun-
dation for the Prevention of Occupational
Hazards, and the General Council of Safety
and Health at Work Professionals, agreed to
grant the Honourable Mention, one of the
categories of the PREVER awards, to José
Luis Barral Campillo, a prevention technician
at FCC Construcción, Infrastructures Divi-
sion – Asturias-Cantabria Management, as
recognition for his merits and work in favour
of the dissemination and implementation of
occupational hazards prevention.

health of workers beyond what is strictly
contemplated in Law. This underscores the
Company’s commitment to its workers.
The document was signed by Gustavo Var-
gas (UGT) and Fernando J. Antón (CC.OO)
on behalf of the trade unions. Pascual Ca-
pmany, manager of Safety and Health and
Carmen Rodríguez, the head of Human
Resources, acted as the representatives of
FCC Aqualia.
A working group, created as an advisory
body, beyond the legally established wor-
kers’ representation, will be in charge of de-
signing the actions pursuant to this charter.
The aim is to create added value in respect
of the representation of workers in the joint
design of the company’s safety and health
policies.
Occupational Hazards and Corporate Social
Responsibility (National and International
“PREVER 2013” Prevention Awards) which
was held in the ceremony hall of the General
Archive of the Region of Murcia, in collabora-
tion with the Directorate General of Labour,
Education, Universities, and Employment of
the Murcia Regional Government.
This was the second year in which a collea-
gue from FCC receives an Honourable Men-
tion of the PREVER awards. In 2010, this
prize was given to Juan Carlos Velázquez
Palacios, a prevention technician at FCC
Construcción in Valencia.
Known as the PREVER Awards, this initia-
tive has become over the years a reference
in the field of occupational hazards in Spain,
the European Union and, more recently, also
in Latin America.
