bathing areas, FCC uses 36 Marnett-type
vessels, specifically designed for collecting
floating and semi-floating waste, algae and
medusa in the bathing areas as well as
small oil spills in the beaches and harbours.

In 2013, FCC was awarded 1,556 million
euros worth of urban sanitation contracts
(waste collection, street cleaning, urban
waste treatment, garden maintenance,
building and sewage cleaning, etc.). This
sum is nearly twice as much as the 850
million euros in the previous year.
FCC provides urban sanitation services
(waste collection, street cleaning, treatment
of household waste, garden maintenance)
in 3,384 of the 8,100 municipalities in Spain
with a population of 27 million people.
The business portfolio of these activities
grew 4.4% in comparison with 2012 and
now amounts to 11,883.7 million euros.
Outside Spain, FCC conducts these acti-
vities in numerous countries, including the
United Kingdom, Central and Eastern Eu-
rope, North Africa and Latin America with
this international business generating reve-
nue of more than 1 billion euros.
