FCC completed the summer season’s clea-
ning operations in the shores of Valencia,
Alicante, Gandía, Guipúzcoa, El Campello
and the Balearic Islands, collecting more
than 1,600 tons of waste spread over
1,800 kilometres of the coastline.
These cleaning tasks are performed every
year during the months when there are
more tourists in order to improve the qua-
lity of sea water and to encourage respect
for the environment and the sustainability of
these spaces.
The service is provided in an area stretching
from the coastline to 0.5 km offshore. Hen-

ce, the vessels used for cleaning operations
perform their work in an area close to or
within the bathing area.
In the shores of Valencia, it includes 198
beaches along the towns Benicarló and
Burriana, Canet d´En Berenguer and El Pe-
relló, Cullera and Denia, Calpe and El Cam-
pello and, lastly, Santa Pola and Torrevie-
ja. At El Campello, the company provides
cleaning services in 9 beaches and 8 coves
