FCC Medio Ambiente

and

Down Madrid

enter into a collaboration agreement to improve

the social and job integration of people with different

capabilities

FCC, through its Environment Division and

the Madrid Down Foundation, entered into

a framework agreement to promote different

measures aimed at improving the quality

of life of people with Down syndrome and

other types of intellectual disabilities so as to

achieve their full integration, socially and in

the workforce.

The event, held at FCC’s headquarters in

Madrid, counted with the presence of re-

presentatives of both entities and the agree-

ment was signed by Luis Suárez, manager of

Human Resources at FCC Medio Ambiente,

and Elena Escalona, managing director of

Down Madrid.

Luis Suárez stressed the responsibility of

companies when incorporating people with

different capabilities for their correct integra-

tion in society. He also pointed out that FCC

does not simply comply with the Law on the

Social Integration of the Disabled, part of the

General Disability Law, but goes beyond far

beyond this and more than complies with

the 2% minimum quota. A video was shown

after his speech describing what FCC is

doing in this respect, showing workers with

intellectual or physical disabilities performing

their jobs and fully integrated in their work

teams.

Elena Escalona was impressed with the

Company’s real commitment to integrating

people with special characteristics in their

teams and said that this was the first agre-

ement of its kind that the Foundation had

signed with a company listed in the Ibex35

stock market index.

The aim of the agreement is the incorpora-

tion of participants in Down Madrid’s Stela

Service at FCC, the collaboration of this en-

tity in training participants and the possibility

that those who participate in Down Madrid’s

Job Training programs for internship work at

the Environment Division of the Citizen Ser-

vices Group.
