Cybersecurity:

397 threats per minute

FCC brings together

international

cybersecurity experts at

the Las Tablas

headquarters

The Spanish Association for the Promotion

of Information Security, ISMS Forum Spain,

held a session at the FCC headquarters in

Las Tablas, with the collaboration of the Citi-

zen Services Group, the host of the seminar,

and Intel Security.

The topics discussed included the problem

posed by phishing or identity theft as well

as the interoperability of the security archi-

tecture (the ability of information systems of

exchanging and using information) which

represents an important tool to face these

threats thanks to the communication among

the security control systems.

Manuel España, the director of FCC Sys-

tems, was in charge of welcoming the

guests and, during his presentation, stres-

sed the important role of the Group in the

area of cybersecurity. The Group has been

a member of the Spanish Association for

the Promotion of Information Security since

its inception and participates actively in ini-

tiatives such as Cyber-ex, organised by this

organisation whose aim is to build aware-

ness and improve corporate resilience. Intel

Security was represented by Raj Samanl,

an active member of the information secu-

rity industry who participates in numerous

initiatives to improve knowledge and the

application of information security measu-

res in companies and in the community. He

analysed the current situation in the industry

and shared his vision on the necessity of the

interoperability of security architectures.

In his speech, he mentioned a very signifi-

cant aspect: the number of new threats are

estimated at 397 per minute. Samanl spoke

of the possibility of preventing these threats

as well as well as on the most frequent

“attack vector” for companies.

The session ended with a message to build

awareness in companies so that they can

improve their ability to detect and respond

to Persistent and Advanced Threats (PATs)

and other attacks by means of security ar-

chitectures that make it possible to respond

quickly to security incidents.

The objective

of the meeting was

to promote corporate

awareness

and resilience
