The Mersey
Bridge
wins two
international prize
The Mersey Bridge, built by FCC, was
awarded the European Road Deal of the
Year prize, organized by IJ Global’s ma-
gazine (Infrastructure Journal and Project
Finance Magazine) which rewards exce-
llence, the achievements and innovation in
energy infrastructures and project finance.
The entire consortium team was present at
the award ceremony.
The project also won the prize given by the
PFI publication “European Infrastructure
2014”, as acknowledgement of one of the
best international finance projects. Antonio
de Santiago, director of FCC Concesiones,
collected the prize and said that “this prize
implies a recognition for our work in one of
the most important infrastructure projects
worldwide. It is unique and highly relevant
project not only for FCC but also for the en-
tire south-west part of the United Kingdom.
It implies an economic and social boost
for the entire region and also improves the
quality of lives of its residents. The results
will be excellent thanks to the magnificent
teamwork”.
