Candidacies in POH: 9
Winner: FCC Ámbito, Cataluña for developing relevant occupational safety and health
actions, for the drop in the accident rate, and the integration of preventive measures
in various production processes.

Candidacies R+D: 11
Winner: Matinsa, of the FCC Construcción Division for its “Fénix Project2, a
communication, GPS localisation and alarm for the fire extinguisher device.
➢
Candidacies Personal Mention: 3
Winner, FCC Construcción Murcia/Almeria: Jacinto Ruiz, recognised for his
determination and participation in issues relating to the Prevention of Occupational
Hazards.

Six international candidacies were submitted.

The Occupational Hazard Prevention category also included a prize for the most
outstanding measure.

All the candidacies submitted in the Personal Mention category award-winners.

Candidacies OHP management: 8
Winners:
•
FCC Environment in Wrexham (United Kingdom), for its safety and health culture
program which reaped very positive results (Wrexham’s demonstration of excellent
H&S culture).
•
For developing relevant measures, the Canary Islands branch of FCC Medio
Ambiente for its program aimed at preventing muscle-bone injuries by practising
warm-up exercises.

Candidacies R+D: 8
Winner: FCC Environment, for its lock, block, and isolation system for equipment
during maintenance tasks (Plant mobile lock off system).

Candidacies Personal Mention: 3
Award-winners:
•
Paul Stokes, manager of Prevention, Quality and the Environment at FCC
Environment.
•
Francisco Javier Suárez, FCC Aqualia’s head of the Trainasa Sewerage network in
Vigo.
•
Ángel Sánchez, in charge of maintenance and conservation of FCC’s corporate
buildings.
