Energy from waste
Lincolnshire County Council’s Waste
Services Department was awarded planning
permission for an Energy from Waste (EfW)
facility at North Hykeham in 2009.
The facility, along with the education centre,
was opened in 2013 and is owned by the
county council and run by FCC Environment.
It is the first plant built by FCC Environment
in the United Kingdom based on “Energy
from Waste” through the incineration of
non-recyclable wste from households,
businesses and indistries and from the the
combustion gases that are generated.
