First drawing and painting contest

for children in the 19 April Community

of La Chorrera (Panama)

FCC Construcción América

With the aim of encouraging creativity,

education, and healthy recreational activities

for youngsters, FCC Construcción America,

in alliance with the National Institute of

Culture, has launched the first drawing and

painting contest for children between the

ages of 6 and 12 in the 19 April Community

at La Chorrera (Panama).

The thirteen children who participated in

the contest received training on painting

techniques such as chiaroscuro, handling

of tempera, primary, secondary and

complementary colours, as well as on

still-life paintings and other. A contest was

organised to complement the course to

award prizes to the best three paintings and

drawings made by the students.

Activities such this one and other ones

such as environmental, sports, job training

information offices, road repairs, noise

reduction campaigns, health seminars are

part of the initiatives of FCC Construcción

America in areas near the Valdeza quarry.

FCC Construcción America reinforces

its commitment to the community by

supporting activities to capture children’s

imagination. The Company has a permanent

commitment to the communities where it

operates and these types of public-private

alliances are yet another step in ensuring the

welfare of children who represent the future

of Panama.

The INAC coordinator in Panama Oeste

province, Ariel Campos, encouraged the

children to continue their cultural training that

helps them to develop their skills and which

represent a way for strengthening the culture

of their country.

The children and their parents thanked FCC

and INAC for launching these educational

initiatives that benefit the population of La

Chorrerra, highlighting the commitment of

both organizations which joined efforts for

carrying out this educational activity through

which children learned new painting and

drawing techniques and encouraged their

creativity.
