Inauguration
of two
wastewater
treatment
plants
in Romania
Through its subsidiary Aqualia Infrastruc-
tures, FCC Aqualia inaugurated the Agnita
and Dumbraveni wastewater treatments
plants in Romania’s Sibiu district. Built in
a joint-venture with Eptisa, the plants will
be able to treat 1,700,000 m
3
/year of was-
tewater thereby preventing the discharge of
this water into the River Tarnavei.
Local and regional administration represen-
tatives were present at the inauguration of
the plants. The group was headed by the
vice-chairman of Sibiu County, Loan Ban-
ciu; the mayor of Medias, Teodor Neamtu;
the mayor of Dumbraveni, Georgeta Irimie;
the mayor of Agnita, Ioan Dragoman, as
well as the managing director of the Apa
Tarnavei Mare Water Department, Virgil
Bucse. Francisco Araque, head of the Pro-
duction Department of the Area II branch
office also attended the inauguration as the
representative of Aqualia Infrastructures.
These projects, jointly with the Zimnicea
wastewater treatment plant, inaugurated in
2013, are the contracts awarded to Aqualia
Infrastrucures to date in Romania.
