We have signed nine Equality Plans in seve-
ral of the Group’s business units and com-
panies, organized numerous campaigns on
equality and against gender violence, and
have drafted a protocol to prevent workpla-
ce and sexual harassment within our com-
panies.
To bolster these measures, in Spain we
have an “Equality and Diversity Manage-
ment” team that is committed to spreading
these policies and the related programs and
actions in their respective business units to
ensure that these actions cut across the
entire organisation.
In addition, as part of our Corporate Social
Responsibility strategy, we are also sup-
porting international projects in developing
countries in which women are involved,
such as the “Stop Obstetric Fistula” pro-
ject being carried out by the “Foundation of
Women for Africa” in Liberia and Monrovia
where FCC has designed an architectural
project and plans to build an hospital to
treat women with childbirth related pro-
blems.
On a day like today, I want to reach out
to women who are part of our company
who represent 21.62% of our team, that
is, 53% of the total employees in adminis-
trative functions and 13.2% in manage-
rial functions. I want to thank you for your
efforts and commitment, not always easy to
reconcile with our personal and family lives,
and encourage you to continue with your
commitment to the company, of which you
are all an essential part; the same efforts,
dedication, commitment, and heart that I
have always seen in my mother, a reference
for all the women in our Group.
The motto chosen this year by the Uni-
ted Nations to celebrate “International
Women’s Day” was: “Equality for women
means progress for all”, as recent studies
have shown. If there is progress in equality,
there is progress for society, the economy
and companies. Therefore, it is the task of
everybody, men and women, to promote it
and to eradicate anything that can violate
this right.
At FCC we will continue to facilitate access,
training, and the promotion of the women
who are part of our Group since we are
convinced that this will redound positively
to the benefit of all.
