FCC executed a project for stabilising the
west access road to the Las Américas Brid-
ge, an emergency work commissioned by
the Ministry of Public Works to improve the
instability of the slope.
The project included investigations to de-
termine its design which consisted of tests,
the installation of inclinometers and pressu-
re gauges which are still being monitored.

The Electoral Court’s comprises three buildings linked together
into an “H” with the two lateral buildings covered with metal and
the centre one with concrete. The five storeys of the complex con-
tain public and private offices, an amphitheatre, a hall for events,
a museum, a library and a sub-basement with parking space and
service facilities.
These buildings were built on top of piles cast in-situ, with rein-
forced concrete pillars, beams, and slabs. The slabs and beams
are complemented with a post-tensed cable system to optimise
their design.
