Armengol played the key role at the informa-

tion breakfast organised with the collabora-

tion of FCC Medio Ambiente y FCC Aqua-

lia. The Group’s representative at this event

were Jordi Payet, managing director of FCC

Medio Ambiente, and Santiago Lafuente,

manager in Spain of FCC Aqualia. Several

politicians were also present at the breakfast

event.

Organized on 7 July in Madrid, the event,

enjoyed broad media coverage and a large

many people participated. Francina Armen-

gol, president of the Balearic Islands Gover-

nment, Jordi Payet and Santiago Lafuente,

as well as María González Veracruz, member

of the Socialist Party (PSOE) and secretary

of Science, Online Participation and Politics

and congressional representative, and César

Chivas, the director of the Executive Forum,

in charge of organising the event sat at the

presidential table. Current politics were the

main subject of the breakfast event that re-

ceived wide media coverage. In her speech,

González Veracruz wagered on financing

of the autonomous governments that was

more just and on Armengol’s management.

Armengol, on her part, made several headli-

nes in national as well as local politics.

The FCC Group has a large presence in the

islands both in water management as well

as in environmental services, and operates

in cities such as Palma de Mallorca, Marra-

txí, Llucmajor, Ciutadella, Maó and Sant An-

toni de Portmany, and its commitment dates

back to more than 30 years.

Armengol was accompanied by: Miquel Ice-

ta, Secretary General of the Catalan Socialist

Party (PSC); Manuel de la Rocha, secretary

of the economy of the Socialist Party (PSOE);

the senator and former president of the Ba-

learic Islands Francesc Antich; the mayor of

San Josep, Pep Marí Ribas; the mayor of

San Antoni, José Tur; and Montserrat Gar-

cía, councilwoman for the Environment of

the Eivissa City Council.
