Children in Oviedo were the leading players
on World Water Day. The Fozaneldi Public
School was invaded by the main characters
of the story that inspires the new edition
of the International Drawing Contest in
order to build awareness, among third and
fourth grade students, through a theatre
representation, on the need to acquire
responsible water consumption habits.
Coinciding with this celebration, FCC
Aqualia launched a new edition of the
International Children’s Drawing Contest
with the slogan “The water cycle for the
brave”.
Children from third and fourth grades
are invited to participate in the cities
and towns throughout Spain where
FCC Aqualia provides its services. The
contest is organized through the www.
elciclodelaguaparavalientes.eswebsite.
The proposal for this year is for children
to describe their knowledge on each of

the phases of the water cycles in a story.
Magicians, champions and other characters
inspire the youngsters in this fun challenge,
encouraging their creativity while, at the
same time, making them aware of the
importance of water.
The organizers of the contest say that the
objective is for them to travel through each
of the phases of the end-to-end water cycle
and to show what they have learned by
creating their own story.
This 14th edition of the contest is of an
international scale. Besides Spain, it is also
organised in Portugal, Italy, and the Czech
Republic, countries where FCC Aqualia
operates by managing the end-to-end
water cycle in several municipalities and
territories.
Wagering on the future in
Oviedo
Some of the city councils in the locations
where FCC Aqualia operates seized the
opportunity during this special occasion to
recognise the children’s involvement in the
previous edition of the contest and gave
them prizes. In the last edition finalists were
given the game “My first vegetable patch”
where they discovered the power of water
in making plants grow and fill the world with
life.
