FCC Aqualia
celebrates
World Water Day 2016
FCC Aqualia joins the message launched
by the United Nations for the celebration
of World Water Day this year, “Water and
Jobs”. According to U.N. data, currently
half of the workers in the world (1.5 billion)
work in water-related sectors and nearly all
of these jobs depend on water and on its
safe distribution.
Managing water services, a public good
and a human rights recognised by the
U.N. requires resources, specialisation,
experience and collaboration. FCC
Aqualia’s professionals, committed to
people and their environment, work ever
day to generate development and wealth in
the territories where it provides its services.
Also, educating people on the efficient
use of natural resources is essential for
achieving the sustainable development
of our environment. Sharing knowledge
with young people so that they acquire
responsible habits in the use of water, both
in terms of consumption as well as returning
it to its natural environment through water
treatment processes is fundamental. It is
also important for them to know what’s
behind the simple act of turning on the
faucet and enjoying water or returning it to
its natural environment with full guarantees
and to recognise the value of the thousands
of professionals who manage a resource as
precious as water.
Sharing FCC Aqualia’s work and its
commitment to managing water in their
cities and towns is a key activity in World
Water Day, particularly in places where this
resource is not easily available to people.
FCC Aqualia celebrated
World Water Day
stressing, under the
slogan chosen this
year, “Water and Jobs”,
the importance of this
resource and the work of
thousands of people who
every day contribute to
better water management
thereby generating
development and wealth
in communities.
