The Aragón-La Rioja branch office of FCC Medio Ambiente
is certified as a Healthy Company
Aenor certifies the branch office for Ara-
gón-La Rioja of FCC Medio Ambiente as a
Healthy Company within its industry in an
event which counted with the representa-
tion of members of Zaragoza’s City Council,
the General Council of Aragón, the Univer-
sity of Zaragoza, the Confederation of Busi-
nessmen of Aragón, and representatives of
the branch office.
This global project at FCC, implemented in
the various branch offices of the Environ-
ment Division, including the certification,
reinforces the Citizen Services Group’s
identity for promoting and protecting the
safety, health, and well-being of the emplo-
yees who contribute every day to building
an taking care of the city and to improve the
quality of life of the community.
The most relevant actions undertaken by
the Human Resources Department of the
branch office, under the direction of FCC’s
Medical Service in Aragón and in collabo-
ration with the Legal Representation of the
Workers, include:
•
Activities to create awareness among
employees and their families of the dan-
gers posed by high blood pressure and
the corresponding measures to diagno-
se, assess, and provide guidelines to em-
ployees who have high blood pressure.

Various initiatives to prevent smoking.
•
Promoting sports through measures to
encourage indoor biking, spinning and
Pilates.
•
Corporate volunteer actions. Social
awareness a priority to make the work-
place a more human and healthy place.
These include the “A smile for Christmas”
campaign, conducted with the joint effort
of the company, its committee, and the
NGO International Cooperation the ob-
jective of which was to ensure that more
than 4000 children in Spain in a vulnera-
ble situation had a Christmas present and
to distribute food among 2200 people at
risk of social exclusion.
This project is defended by the Aragón-La
Rioja branch office of FCC Medio Ambiente
as a an idea that has taken root an whose
benefits have a direct impact on workers,
the organization, and corporate production
and which, indirectly, on the activity con-
ducted in the cities where it provides its
services.
