The company is also spearheading the In-
vestigación Integral sobre Islas Sostenibles
(Comprehensive Research on Sustainable
Islands, IISIS) project. The project focu-
ses on researching aspects of engineering,
construction and advanced materials for
unique structures in open sea are that sub-
ject to extreme climate and environmental
conditions, as well as their exploitation to
obtain energy from waves and currents.
The DOVICAIM project, which is also on-
going, will facilitate resources and models
to analyse placement manoeuvres of cais-
sons in open sea. This is regarded as one of
the highest risk stages in these processes.
