FCC designs
the School Manual
on Road Safety
for Schools
in Alcobendas
As part of its activities to promote road sa-
fety and within the framework of the colla-
boration agreement with the City Council of
Alcobendas, FCC designed school manuals
on road safety which are distributed among
the students who visit the Road Safety Edu-
cation Park in Alcobendas. For this course,
800 manuals were distributed among pri-
mary school students.
The first part of the manual includes a letter
of presentation from Ignacio García de Vi-
nuesa, the mayor of Alcobendas, expressing
his gratitude to FCC for its support, followed
by a text on road safety, mobility and traffic,
describing the concepts that the students
are able to put into practice at the park’s
circuit.
In addition, the last block of the manual in-
cludes information of FCC activities and
commitments, drafted in a friendly and fun
way, explaining the end-to-end water cycle,
including the Hidrokid comic book; informa-
tion on taking care of the environment as
told by the Green Commando, and several
good habits for a healthy life.

Collaboration
The collaboration between the City Coun-
cil of Alcobendas and FCC in recent years
has consisted of providing the park with ele-
ments and the installation by the company
of city furniture, a shed for the circuit, simu-
lation elements, and other items. Two road
safety seminars were organized for the chil-
dren and family members of FCC personnel
who attended the theoretical and practice
courses where both the City Council and
FCC were able to explain and transmit their
commitment, projects, and actions in rela-
tion to mobility and road safety. The close
contacts between the Company and the lo-
cal government makes it possible to have an
open collaboration relationship, generating
activities with the common objective of pre-
venting traffic accidents with the conviction
of the important work involved in teaching,
training, and educating students on the va-
lues of road safety and mobility.
