Improves urban transport since it
the metro line connects the strategic
points in the city as well as cultural and
tourist attractions: the historical centre,
Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña,
Hospital Mutua de Terrassa, Vallparadís
Park, the monumental San Pedro site,
the Castle-Cartuja, Baumann House,
the Textile Museum, and San Lázaro
Hospital. It also facilitates access to
public transport in the city’s districts
under development.

Improves transport to Vallès and
Barcelona, either by Ferrocarriles
de la Generalitat de Cataluña or the
Cataluña Commuter trains.

Improves railway commuting by
enabling the interchange with the
Commuter Trains (Lines R4 and R12 at
the Terrassa North Station.

Also improves interchange with the
bus lines.

For the first time, railway lines were
assembled on top of floating slabs in
Line S1 of Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat,
and, in addition, fibres were used in the
construction of the segments.
I believe that the fundamental contribution
of FCC is always value for people,
technically, financially, and in terms of
administration.
My experience has always been very
positive. I consider myself fortunate for
having taken part in such an important
undertaking and my opinion of the
Terrassa projects is also very positive, both
technically and in terms of management.

Even though it is an engineering project
from the perspective of its important
effect on the territory, we succeeded in
minimising this impact in the city.
FCC’s contribution in the execution of this
milestone, the extension of the railway line
of the Generalitat, has been very important.
Thanks to the technical expertise of
the personnel and the management
capabilities, the overall valuation is positive.

I am particularly fond of this project
since, even though we encountered some
problems, we have been able to address
all of them.
Even though every project is unique, the
fact is that although it may seem that you
are starting from scratch, without knowing
anything, at the end you have the advantage
of havig past experience which helps you to
resolve the problems that you may face no
matter how different they may be.
