A new Peineta
FCC is currently working on the construc-
tion of La Peineta Stadium, which will be
home to the Atletico Madrid team from the
2017/2018 season onwards. It will have
a capacity for over 67,000 fans, in stands,
boxes and VIP areas. The total surface area
will cover 145,721 sq. m. and it will have a
new, modern steel structure weighing about
6,336 tons. This will be tensioned with radial
cables (measuring a total length of 16,590
metres) and joined by a membrane fabric
