FCC
joints the European construction sector
initiative by signing the
sustainability declaration
On 21 June at the Kröller-Möller Museum
in the Netherlands, twenty companies,
members of the European Network of
Construction Companies for Research
and Development (ENCORD) signed the
joint sustainability declaration. The bylaws
were ratifed by the Executives of the com-
panies attending the event, including Fran-
cisco Esteban Lefer, Manager of FCC
Construcción’s Department of Innovation
and Technology.
After reaching this milestone, ENCORD
member companies, including FCC; will
develop this declaration through a specifc
set of measures that will be submitted, jo-
intly with their experiences in this respect,
before an audience of 2,000 participants at
the World Sustainable Building Conference
to be held in Helsinki in 2011.
ENCORD and FCC
FCC was the frst construction company
in the world to publish an “in accordance”
sustainability report in 2003. Since then, it
has fulflled its commitment to sustainable
development refecting it in its values on
transparent information, the fght against
corruption, the wager for talent, and cons-
tant innovation.
Founded in 1989, ENCORD is an inno-
vation network whose members are the
leading European companies operating in
the construction sector. This declaration
expresses the vision that research, deve-
lopment and innovation in the construc-
tion sector make a signifcant contribution
to creating a more sustainable world. The
member companies undertake to act in ac-
cordance with the principles set out in the
Charger through its activities and to share
practical experiences so as to improve the
quality of the construction activity and crea-
te added value in the community.
