The Las Dehesas plant,
a model of balance
In order to promote the prevention of oc-
cupational accidents and diseases throug-
hout the world, each year the World Day for
Safety and Health at Work is celebrated on
the 28th of April.
Coinciding with this initiative, the Regional
Institute of Safety and Health at Work or-
ganised the 3
rd
edition of the Safety and
Health at Work Week of the Madrid Auto-
nomous Community.
In collaboration with several entities, pro-
fessional associations, social agents and
companies, several technical seminars and
events were organised to promote the im-
provement of safety and health conditions
at the work place and the fight against oc-
cupational accidents.
Within this context, a visit was made on 23
April to one of the treatment plants in Ma-
drid where FCC Medio Ambiente conducts
its activities to check the technical aspects
of the work procedures at this site. Repre-

Health at Work
World Day for Safety and Health at Work is a celebration with a short
tradition which has become a global reference among workers. In 1996,
the 28th of April was chosen as the day to celebrate this day dedicated to
workers who had suffered accidents at the workplace and those who were
affected by an occupational disease.
