FCC
continues to be part of the
Dow Jones Sustainability
Index
FCC has been recognised once again for
its environmental and social responsibility
initiatives. Sustainable Asset Management
-SAM-, which draws up the Dow Jones
Sustainability World Indices, has distinguis-
hed FCC as a Bronze Class company in the
Heavy Construction section.
This is the third consecutive year that FCC
has been distinguished in its sector by
SAM, and is one of the top Spanish com-
panies in the Heavy Construction category.
The Gold Class distinction went to Hyundai
Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd and
the Silver to GS Engineering & Construction
Corp., both from South Korea.
This index, comprising over 300 compa-
nies from 27 countries, selects companies
which are committed to sustainable growth
and to creating shareholder value; the busi-
nesses in the index are rated in accordance
with more than 90 strict economic, social
and environmental criteria.
SAM recently published its Sustainability
Yearbook 2012, which includes the awards
granted to companies for their commitment
and performance in sustainability and social
responsibility, among them FCC’s Bronze
Class distinction in the Heavy Construction
sector.
The results of the 2011 edition, reported in
the SAM Sustainability Yearbook 2012, re-
flect the positive evaluation by SAM experts
of FCC in the categories of Non-Financial
Project Evaluation, Risk Management, and
Transport & Logistics. FCC’s supplier ma-
nagement also received high scores.
