completes construction of the
Danzig PGE Arena
for the
European Cup
FCC’s Austrian Subsidiary, ALPINE Bau
GmbH, completed construction work for
the Gdansk PGE Arena in Danzig, Poland,
which will host several 2012 Euro Cup ga-
mes, including the quarter-fnals, in the
summer of 2012.
Accommodating 44,000 spectators, the
stadium is among the largest sports facili-
ties in Poland. One of the most striking fea-
tures of the PGE Arena Gdansk is its amber
color, clearly refecting one of the features
for which Danzig is famous, the amber co-
lor of the Baltic Sea.
The stadium is built on a 34-hectare plot of
land and is 236 meters long, 203 meters
wide, and features 40 exclusive VIP loun-
ges spread across more than 2,000 m
2
.
The PGE Arena Gdansk has a functional
design thanks to which it will house all ty-
pes of sports and cultural events.
