Aqualia receives “Three stars” for its trajectory in the European Ben- chmarking Cooperation (EBC) Pioneering circular economy project at the Guijuelo wastewater treatment plant (Salamanca) SmVaK will undertake major infrastructure improvements in the district of Frýdek-Místek (Czech Republic) Aqualia will purify Ávila’s water until 2038 A year of sustainable management Gluglú packs its bags and travels with Aqualia to Panama The EBC-European Benchmarking Coope- ration, the programme that compares and evaluates water services at an internatio- nal level, has awarded Aqualia its “three stars” certificate, the highest category. This distinction recognises the continuous im- provement of water services and the com- pany’s commitment to organise or host im- provement activities with other companies. The ADVISOR project, led by Aqualia, will develop an inte- gral recovery system for animal by-products and sewage sludge to obtain vehicle biofuel and bioplastics. The pro- ject has a budget of 1.4 million euros, subsidised by the CDTI through the FEDER Interconecta programme, with the support of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Uni- versities and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) until the end of 2020. The investment plan for 2019 of SmVaK, Aqualia’s sub- sidiary in the Czech region of Moravia-Silesia, presents important projects in the field of interventions in sewage networks, wastewater treatment plants and supply networ- ks in the municipalities of the district of Frýdek-Místek. The City Council of Avila has renewed the contract with Aqualia for the management of the municipal wastewater treatment plant. Thus, the company will manage the inte- gral water cycle of the municipality until the year 2038. The new contract is valued at around 35 million euros. Aqualia closes its corporate campaign #CompromisoAqualia with the launch of a video in which it reviews the most signi- ficant data harvested in the last year. The campaign has discovered more than 60 facts, based on real data, which contribute to the transformation of the territories in which the company serves and the achievement of the United Nations Sustai- nable Development Objectives (SDOs) for the year 2030. The Ministry of Health and the Sanitation Programme of Panama are going to use an adaptation of the comic book Gluglú, created and developed by Aqualia, to intro- duce the children of the district of Arraiján to the processes of the sewage treatment plant that is being built in that area. The animated story, which will be distributed among the children attending the next act of begin- ning of work, reveals the exci- ting journey that makes a nice drop of water from any home until its return to the natural en- vironment. 2nd International Health and Safety Conference for a healthy organisation Over the course of three days, Aqualia held the annual Occupational Risk Prevention training ses- sions for its Health and Sa- fety technicians (HS Ma- nager) in both the national and international areas.
