Aqualia says NO to gender violence On the occasion of the World Day Against Gender Violence, Aqualia launched the campaign #AqualiaCon- tigo and with all the material received the company has edited a video with a selection of the images and messa- ges received, which also includes a few words of presentation from Aqua- lia’s CEO, Felix Parra, which explains the objective of the action and the company’s commitment to this cause. The hundreds of Aqualia workers who have joined the #AqualiaConti- go campaign by sharing images and messages of support for the victims, and their rejection of gender violen- ce, convey the strong commitment of all the company’s professionals to the most serious problems of to- day’s society. At the same time, the company read a manifesto against gender violence in various work centres in Aqualia and at the gates of town halls. Examples include Santa Eulària (Ibiza), Llucma- jor (Mallorca), Abarán (Murcia) and El Vendrell (Tarragona). The water in fountains in municipalities such as Oviedo has also been dyed violet and talks and colloquiums have been organised, as is the case of Martos (Huelva), and other activities, such as dramatised performances or the can- vas competition “Ávila espacio libre de violencia machista” (Ávila space free of male violence). Today and always, #AqualiaContigo. The photograph “Tú que cuidas, déjate cuidar” (You who are a caregiver, let somebody take care of you) by Ángel Luis Pérez, director of the Castile and León branch office, was the winner of the photo competition #Aqua- liaContigo. Carmen Rodríguez, director of Personas, presented the prize at a ceremony held at the Las Tablas corporate head- quarters in Madrid. Carolina Serrano, head of Aqua- lia Contact, and Carmen Fuentes, from the Administration depart- ment of the Levante branch offi- ce, were finalists with their photo- graphs “A flower of hope so that there is no news that produces indignation” and “There is always a way”, respectively. Santiago La- fuente, director of Spain, and Ele- na Barroso, director of Legal, de- livered the awards. The awards are endowed with a commemo- rative trophy and a card exchan- geable for purchases at Amazon or donations to the NGOs Action against Hunger, World Vision and UNICEF.
