FCC recognised in the Community of Madrid for its excellence in the management of occupational Asepeyo, a mutual insurance com- pany collaborating with Social Secu- rity, has given awards to companies in the Community of Madrid, rewar- ding their excellence in managing and reducing the rate of accidents at the workplace. Among these companies, the FCC Group companies obtained, through Asepeyo, the bonus or incentive that reduces their contribution to Social Security thanks to their low accident rate. María Lourdes Meléndez Mo- rillo-Velarde, deputy general mana- ger of Social Security Collaborating Entities gave the award to Pedro Francisco Ledesma García, head of Corporate Health and Safety at Work, who collected it on behalf of FCC. Ángel Jurado Segovia, Direc- tor General for Employment of the Community of Madrid and Manager of the Regional Institute for Health and Safety at Work gave the closing speech. The Directorate General of Social Security Planning, through the co- llaborating mutual insurance com- panies, grants this incentive to companies that have contributed in a verifiable way to the reduction and prevention of occupational ac- cidents through quantifiable invest- ments and the implementation of appropriate preventive measures, policies and practices at all levels of the entity. Asepeyo acknowledges the work of those companies in the Community of Madrid that have received this incentive for their excellence in pre- vention management and their con- tribution to reducing the number of accidents at work. FCC continues to benefit from this incentive year after year thanks to its work in the prevention of occupa- tional hazards, thereby achieving a low rate of occupational accidents, below the average for the sectors in which it operates.
