The infrastructure area of the FCC Group has published its Environ- mental Report 2017. In this docu- ment, available to all interested stakeholders, the environmental protection actions and / or good practices that are developed by FCC Construcción throughout all the activities are analysed, that runs anywhere in the world. Published every two years, this do- cument unifies the environmental performance of the company, des- cribing the results, initiatives and FCC Construcción’s contribution to the environment where it operates. Throughout 2016, an average of 26 good environmental practices were applied per project, with 99% of the projects carrying out an en- vironmental signalling campaign or, for example, in 2016, the volume of inert waste at the landfill site was reduced compared to the volume planned for the project, by 91%, which reflects the company’s envi- ronmental awareness. Going deeper into the environmen- tal data, FCC Construcción highli- ghts the 7.5% reduction in green- house gas emissions and 33% in dust emissions compared to 2015. In 2000, the FCC Group’s infras- tructure area set itself the strategic objective of adopting practices that respect the environment, beyond strict compliance with current legis- lation, and which result in a reduc- tion in the company’s environmental footprint. This system was registe- red in the General Registry of Inte- llectual Property on July 10, 2009, under the title “System for the eva- luation of environmental performan- ce through good practices”. Environmental practices are develo- ped in the following areas: relations- hip with society, atmosphere, noise and vibrations, water, soil, natural resources, waste, environment and biodiversity and are part of the or- ganization’s environmental manage- ment system, certified according to UNE-EN ISO 14.001-2015 and inte- grated into the general management system of the company, applicable to all projects and work centres. This first-of-its kind initiative of FCC Construcción was awarded in 20007 the Garrigues – Expansión – CIIS award in the Corporate Social Sustainability and Responsibility ca- tegory thanks to its commitment to sustainable development.
