We are FCC - Nº4

Last 3 December was International Day of Disabled Persons. This day was proclaimed by the United Na- tions General Assembly in 1992 to promote the rights and well-being of the disabled and to increase aware- ness of their situation in all aspects of political, social, economic and cul- tural life. To celebrate this day, FCC remem- bers that it maintains and streng- thens its commitment to this group day by day and progresses in its commitment to be an increasingly diverse and socially responsible company, promoting actions and projects to encourage inclusion and equality through employment. Near- ly 900 persons in the company have a recognised disability in a world in which one person in seven has some type of disability (a thousand million in the world, 80% of them in develo- ped countries). FCC’s commitment to diversity and employment inclusion covers various actions and management strategies such as: • Contracting directly and through specialised organisations such as the Fundación Inserta with the em- ployment programme associated with theFundaciónOncewithwhich FCC has been working for years. • Promoting purchases and the con- tracting of services with special employment centres, the company being a leader in its own special employment centre (CEE), FCC Equal, under the FCC Medio Am- biente Castile and Leon branch. • Apoyando programas de educa- Supporting educational and en- trepreneurial programmes, colla- borating with Fundación Prevent in its classroom for entrepreneurs and recently participating in the provision of grants to students and entrepreneurs with disabilities, sports persons and prevention of occupational risks researchers. • Valuing diversity and giving visibi- lity to talent, as well as campaig- ns to fight to eliminate prejudices and barriers that limit the deve- lopment of persons. This year, with the Fundación Adecco, the FCC Group has joined the cam- paign “The good vibes consultant against prejudices at work,” led by El Langui, Juan Manuel Montilla, the well-known actor and musi- cian, who recognises “having had the luck to demonstrate his ta- lent and live from it,” overcoming the barriers of his cerebral injury.
