New agreement with RICOH for rationalising printers and copying machines The Information Systems and Tech- nology Division, aligned to the en- vironmental sustainability and cost savings strategy, has launched a project to extend the rationalisation of image processing devices that is currently provided in the headquarter buildings to all other FCC offices in Spain. To this end, it has entered into an agreement with Ricoh, world lea- der in managed printing services, pursuant to which, the new supplier will provide services as of October at each of the offices with FCC per- sonnel and the migration of all image processing devices: printers, photo- copy machines, scanners and faxes. At all of these offices, the old equip- ment will be replaced with other la- test generation equipment adapted to businesses and featuring the most advanced technological characteris- tics, sharply reducing energy con- sumption as well as the use of paper and toner. Since management will be centra- lised, printing policies will be imple- mented limiting the use of special printing such as in colour or high definition. The project aims to install shared printers, restricting personal use to specific profiles (cashiers, dis- patches, customer care, etc.). The new model ensures the confi- dentiality of printed documents by establishing the push-printing stan- dard (printing with personal identifi- cation). The supplier will be in charge of the entire service which includes: • Optimised redesign at each headquarters • Installation of new equipment • On-site training for users • Preventive and corrective main- tenance • Assistance in the event of inci- dences • Supply of consumables (except paper) • Removal and environmental management of used consuma- bles and old equipment The Information Systems and Tech- nologies division will prepare indi- vidualised communication for each headquarters over the coming mon- ths prior to deployment, providing details on how the new service will function. Lastly, we would like to point out that any new printing need should be coordinated with the IT managers of the business units through the Infor- mation Systems and Technologies Division.
