cement Group is leading, as a referen- ce, in the use of clean energies in the production of cement and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, such as the use of bio- mass as fuel or the use of alterna- tive fuels from the local recycling plants. Likewise, all of the trade union re- presentatives not only wanted to emphasize the actions of the com- pany, but the importance of betting on the development and imple- mentation of this type of project committed to the environment. In this way, the Secretary of the Construction and Building Mate- rials sector of FICA-UGT Andalu- cía, Joaquín Barrera, highlighted their important role as generators of quality employment: “In the re- gion of Los Alcores alone, some 2,000 jobs depend on projects for the use of cleaner energies, such as the one that will use biomass as fuel for the manufacture of cement in the plant of the Cementos Port- land Valderrivas Group”.
