FCC Medio Ambiente has put into ser- vice two modern boats for cleaning the water on the beaches of Almuñécar and La Herradura, which operate during the summer period until 30 September, always adapting to the beach season. The 6.5-metre-long and 2.5-metre-wide boats have articulated arms on the port side and starboard side with textile nets to collect foams of dirt that could reach the coasts, as well as inboard motors, which provide greater safety for bathers since the propellers go inside the vessels. These two boats are part of the improve- ments included in the cleaning specifica- tions with respect to previous years, thus improving considerably in efficiency and effectiveness. In addition, FCC Medio Ambiente has integrated three new machines for cle- aning the beaches of Almuñécar and La Herradura to provide the service in all aspects of sand treatment, cleaning and installation of new walkways, among others. With these new vehicles, operability is improved in order to be able to act better and faster, and these services are also extended to Sundays.
