Social responsibility
Plan
One of the main objectives of the FCC
Corporate Human Resources De-
partment is for the Group to become a
reference in people management, diver-
sity, and equal opportunities.
Equality, as part of the corporate cultu-
re, has been bolstered signifcantly by
a strategy based on negotiations and
on the implementation of equality plans
adapted to the activity, situation, and
staff profle at each of the FCC Compa-
nies . Thanks to these efforts, the Com-
pany a pioneer in this feld in the sectors
where it operates. To date, seven speci-
fc plans have been executed and com-
mittees have been created to monitor
these plans jointly with the trade unions
that have been co-signers of the various
plans.
These Equality Plans focus on key areas
such as access to a job, training, promo-
tion, remuneration, the reconciliation of
work and family life and co-responsibi-
lity, preventive and corrective measures
to address discrimination and prevent
sexual harassment, gender violence and
communication.
The Ministry of Health, Social Policies
and Equality has recognised FCC’s
efforts and its water management sub-
sidiary Aqualia has been awarded the
Equality Seal. The Group has also subs-
cribed the “Principles for empowering
Women” of the United Nations Glo-
bal Pact which objective is to bolster
women’s participation in all economic
areas and activities.
FCC also has a protocol for possible ca-
ses of harassment at work which comes
into action automatically in the event of
any complaint fled or indications of un-
fair practices.
For the proper management of diver-
sity, equal opportunities, non-discrimi-
nation, and the eradication of any type
of harassment, FCC has an internatio-
nal Diversity and Equality Management
Committee with representatives from the
most relevant Group business areas.
As to the commitment to diversity, work
is being carried out to generate jobs for
the groups that are at the greatest risk of
being socially excluded. The results are
evident in the fact that there are 1,042
workers on the payroll with some type
of disability, and the agreement entered
into with the ONCE Foundation which
will make it possible to incorporate an
additional 150 people with disabilities in
the workforce over the next three years.
FCC has also executed an agreement
with the Ministry of Health, Social Policy
and Equality to facilitate the incorpora-
tion of women who have been victims
of domestic violence, as well as other
agreements with various entities, such
as Fundación Integra and Fundación
Exit through which it commits itself to
hire people at risk of being socially ex-
cluded. This includes the Campaign
Against Domestic Violence of the Minis-
try of Health, Social Policy and Equality
or the campaign to build awareness on
the situation of children whose mothers
are victims of domestic violence, a cam-
paign promoted by the NGO Save the
Children.
