the other districts and coastal towns during peak consumption periods. The scope of the project is the implementation of a fxed network for the transmission of meter rea-ding data and consumption from 10,000 meters, although the objective of the pro-ject, adapted to the management require-ments of this township, is to study the pos-sibility of mass deployment in the future to all water meters in El Vendrell, a township with a population of 35,000 people. Avera-ge water consumption in this township from January to May is 9,000 m 3 , increasing to 23,000 m 3 during the summer months.

from a distance, sending data directly to a central station at the Municipal Water De-partment offce without requiring the work of a meter-reader.

The system enables the collection of more detailed consumption data in various en-vironments. For example, operators may obtain an analysis, data charts, or a com-plete record of consumption alarms with a specifc indicator.

Advantages

Among the many advantages for clients, the system makes it possible to read the meters remotely without clients having to be present; perform more frequent and pre-cise readings on a monthly basis or whe-never there are any changes in the water supply contract, as well as obtaining grea-ter knowledge on water consumption. For clients, this new implementation will be of interest since they can receive information

on excessive water consumption due to water leaks, for example, or detect any fa-ilures in their water meter equipment.
